General Information About the Department

Our department was established in 2015 to provide undergraduate education. Our department, which graduates with the title of “Textile and Fashion Designer” and cares about providing university-industry cooperation in education, aims to train competitive, self-confident, productive and innovative designers who know traditional values and can make original designs by blending tradition with contemporary values, closely follow the developments in the world, consider the needs of society and economy, know teamwork, have the ability to work at national and international level, follow technological innovations and use them in their field.

During their education, students develop their knowledge and skills related to textile, weaving, surface decoration, clothing accessories, garment design and production, while learning to access information and to work solution-oriented by reinterpreting it. During the education process, they are prepared for the future by doing internship in related enterprises in the market.

Graduation
Students of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design can graduate if they complete 240 (successful) ECTS in the undergraduate education process. The diploma of the students includes the phrase “Textile and Fashion Design” Graduate.

Tuition Fee
There is no tuition fee for Textile and Fashion Design undergraduate education (except for foreign students)

Education and Training Model
The undergraduate education period of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design is four (4) years, that is, eight (8) semesters. Department of Textile and Fashion Design does not have a second education program.

Department of Textile and Fashion Design is located in Çankırı city center, Cumhuriyet Mahallesi Şehit Pilot Lieutenant Erdem Öztürk Street, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (Click for map location).

Where Education and Training will take place
The education and training activities of the students enrolled in the Department of Textile and Fashion Design are mostly carried out in the classrooms of the department within the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. For some elective and Higher Education courses, the central classrooms on campus can also be used.

Textile and Fashion Design Department students have the opportunity to stay in the dormitories of the Credit Dormitories Institution and private dormitories in Çankırı Center.

Scholarship
Students of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design can apply for scholarships and loans provided by the Credit and Dormitories Institution when they start their undergraduate education. They can also get support for scholarships from the municipalities and chambers (such as the Chamber of Commerce) where they reside.

Part-Time Work
Students enrolled in the Department of Textile and Fashion Design can apply for part-time work in different units of our university since the beginning of the academic year. The fee and conditions for part-time work are announced on the web page at the beginning of each semester by the Department of Health, Sports and Culture.
