Goals and Objectives of the Program
PROGRAM GOALS
Goal 1: To educate individuals who have theoretical, conceptual, technical and professional knowledge in the field of textile and fashion design.
Goal 2: To educate individuals who can effectively use and present creative thinking, digital competence and problem solving skills in design processes in the field of textile and fashion.
Goal 3: To educate individuals who adopt a creative and application-oriented approach, who can work effectively independently and in a team in design and production processes, and who have a sense of responsibility.
Goal 4: To educate individuals who have the competencies to evaluate the knowledge and skills related to the field with a critical approach and to gain lifelong learning habits.
Goal 5: To educate individuals who can transform the knowledge and skills acquired in the field into activities that create social contribution and social impact and who can communicate effectively in this process.
Goal 6: To educate individuals who realize creative and innovative art and design practices based on scientific, cultural, social, ethical, national and universal values in the field of textile and fashion design.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Goal 1: “To educate individuals who have the theoretical, conceptual, technical and professional knowledge base for the field of textile and fashion design”:
O1.1: To acquire basic knowledge about the theoretical and conceptual structures of art and design.
O1.2: To comprehend the cultural and historical development in the field of textile and fashion design.
O1.3: To comprehend current information about the materials used in the field of textile and fashion design and traditional and digital design techniques.
O1.4: To acquire knowledge about professional practices and strategies.
O1.5: To acquire basic knowledge about environmental and social responsibility approaches.
Goal 2: “To train individuals who can effectively use and present creative thinking, digital competence and problem solving skills in design processes in the field of textile and fashion”:
O2.1: To gain the ability to decide on the use of appropriate techniques and materials in the field of textile and fashion design.
O2.2: To develop the ability to use cognitive and applied knowledge in the field of textile and fashion design effectively in design processes.
O2.3: To develop the ability to use basic information technologies and field-specific computer programs effectively.
O2.4: To gain the ability to develop collections in accordance with the conceptual theme and current trends in the field of textile and fashion design.
O2.5: To develop the ability to use production and presentation techniques effectively in the field.
O2.6: To develop the ability to analyze the problems encountered in the design process and develop solutions.
Goal 3: “To raise individuals who adopt a creative and application-oriented approach, who can work effectively independently and in a team in design and production processes, and who have a sense of responsibility”:
O3.1: To encourage individual and group activities and projects in the field through counseling, guidance and student support services.
O3.2: To create educational content that will support the ability to plan and execute design and production processes in individual and team work.
O3.3: To include individual and/or group studies in theoretical and practical courses, and to carry out activities for the competencies of working effectively independently and in a team and assuming responsibility.
O3.4: To contribute to individual or group activities that will create social impact by raising entrepreneurship awareness.
Goal 4: “To educate individuals who have the competencies to critically evaluate the knowledge and skills related to the field and to gain lifelong learning habits”:
O4.1: To design learning environments that will enable students to analyze the knowledge they have acquired in the field of textile and fashion design with a critical approach and develop solutions.
O4.2: To enable students to gain skills in planning, implementing and evaluating learning processes through various activities in order to encourage lifelong learning.
Goal 5: “To train individuals who can transform the knowledge and skills acquired in their field into activities that create social contribution and social impact and who can communicate effectively in this process”:
O5.1: To carry out activities that will enable them to take an active role in social responsibility-oriented projects
O5.2: Organizing public events where students` works are exhibited
O5.3: To organize activities to develop an understanding of design based on local and universal values.
O5.4: To carry out activities to strengthen students` sectoral awareness, effective communication and interaction skills in professional and social environments through industry collaborations.
O5.5: To create learning environments that will improve students` ability to follow professional information and resources in a foreign language (at least at level B1) and to establish basic communication in this language.
O5.6: To provide educational content in which students can effectively use computer software, information and communication technologies related to the field.
Goal 6: “To train individuals who realize creative and innovative art and design practices based on scientific, cultural, social, ethical, national and universal values in the field of textile and fashion design”:
O6.1: To realize practices to enable students to know the values of art and design and to produce creative and original works.
O6.2: To carry out activities for the competence of effective management of business processes in the field of textile and fashion design.
O6.3: Adopting the principles of ethics and sustainability in textile and fashion design processes; to carry out education and training activities for decision-making and application skills with a sense of responsibility in material selection, production methods and waste management stages.
O6.4: To realize art and design practices by considering cultural, social and ethical principles.
